...And
full her life is. As a yoga instructor, karate black belt, teacher, outdoor
educator and macrobiotic counselor, Aida Neves weaves the compassionate approach of
Kripalu Yoga throughout her life. Her lifelong goal is to assist in the
achievement of health – personal, environmental
and global. An avid outdoor enthusiast and nature lover, Aida lives in Richmond
Hill, just north of Toronto, Ontario.Aida graduated from the University of Toronto in 1982 with an Honours bachelor degree in Physical and Health Education. The following year she received a Bachelor of Education and an Ontario Teaching Certificate at the University of Ottawa.
Aida was first introduced to yoga in 1979 when she studied “corrective yoga exercises”, a form of yoga which corrects specific postural misalignments and addresses various health concerns. This she used as part of her lifestyle counseling practice. To augment her martial arts training she continued her exploration of yoga at the Toronto Kripalu Yoga Centre and with other accomplished yoga teachers over the years.
Aida became keenly aware of the transformational power of yoga and embraced the practice with passion and commitment. She found her calling in the teaching of it. She currently holds Professional Level Yoga Teacher Certification from the Kripalu Centre in Massachusetts and is a Kripalu Yoga Teacher Mentor.
Aida has found that Kripalu Yoga balances dynamic physical exercise, and traditional yogic practices within a methodology founded on the principles of compassion toward the body, mind, heart and spirit.
“I have adopted a lifestyle over the years, that has helped my family and me live a full and healthy life. I would like to invite you to share this experience with me through the practice of Yoga.”
