PHILIPPE LACAILLE

sTELLA vINER PHOTOArt & Design has always been an integral part of my being. But it wasn't until I started practicing yoga in my mid-forties that my artistic abilities begin to emerge. It feels as though I have now unified what was in me from birth and connected it with my mind and heart. Then, through experiencing the body, it started to manifest.

From water colour paintings to abstract line drawings, these designs and paintings have manifested from my yoga practice and my passion to discover my capabilities in art.

I will always feel special gratitude to my family, because if not for them, I wouldn't be who I am today – and to my darling daughters whose love and glow on their happy pure faces always gave me courage to move on.... I’m also grateful for all my teachers, my guides, my friends and most of all life itself...

Philippe Lacaille photoPhilippe LACAILLE, Founder and Director of the REIKI CENTRE located in Aurora, North of Toronto, Ontario, was born and educated in Paris, France. Philippe has spent 25 years of his life in the Health Care sector. After completing the first chapter of his life as a Senior Executive in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, Philippe holds Professional level Yoga Teacher Certification from the KRIPALU CENTRE FOR YOGA & HEALTH in Lennox, Massachusetts. He also trained as a Reiki Master (Sensei) - traditional Japanese Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage – dedicating all of his time and energy to be of service to those in need.

Currently, Philippe teaches Yoga, Meditation and Reiki, he shares his time between the Reiki Centre and other private settings in the Toronto area. In his clinical practice, Philippe uses Yoga, Meditation and Reiki to restore Quality of Life (QOL) and provide pain relief to a wide range of people - including those with cancer, MS, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and other maladies where pain undermines QOL. He also teaches Reiki to a growing number of Reiki therapists of all ages and walks of life.

In 2005, Philippe initiated an outreach initiative in the poorest area of Toronto, where he and some of his Reiki trainees donate their time to one of the largest drop-in centre for homeless people. “Bringing Reiki to the center’s members is an attempt to increase their QOL and alleviate their pain, as well as address the mental health concerns currently affecting this type population”, says Lacaille. In 2006, Philippe initiated another outreach program at the largest Ontario shelter for natives where he shares Reiki treatments with staff and members. Overall, Philippe donates half of his working week to give back to those in needs.

Philippe’s vision is to bring Yoga, Meditation and Energy Medicine such as Reiki to the traditional medical system, as an adjunct to current therapeutic options available to the medical profession. He is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association, the International Yoga Alliance and the Reiki Alliance. He lives in Aurora, north of Toronto, enjoys spending time outdoors, loves nature and rides his motorcycle when he is not on his yoga mat.
